At Learn N’ Play Childminding, I provide a warm, nurturing and home-from-home childcare setting in Alford, Aberdeenshire.

I am a registered childminder and Aberdeenshire Council funded provider, offering high-quality early learning and childcare in a small, caring home environment.

Children are supported through everyday play, outdoor adventures, creativity, stories, songs, real-life experiences and child-led learning. Each child is valued as an individual, with their own interests, personality, routines and development carefully considered.

Homemade Meals and Healthy Snacks

I provide homemade lunches and healthy snacks most of the time, as part of the children’s daily care. Mealtimes are calm, sociable and nurturing, giving children time to enjoy their food, build independence and develop positive eating habits.

When children are interested, they are encouraged to help prepare their own snacks and meals in safe, age-appropriate ways. This may include washing fruit, mixing ingredients, spreading, pouring, chopping with child-safe tools, setting the table or helping to tidy up afterwards.

These everyday experiences support children’s confidence, independence, fine motor skills, communication, numeracy, hygiene routines and understanding of healthy choices.
